A big part of the mission at Maximo Nivel is to create opportunities for intercultural exchange—for people to interact and learn from each other, both inside and outside the Maximo Nivel institutes. One of the major differences between Maximo Nivel and other study abroad organizations is that we offer multiple programs including Spanish Immersion, International Internships, Volunteer Abroad, TEFL Certification, and University Courses. Maximo Nivel is also a very busy English as a Second Language (ESL) learning center in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Peru.

WHAT IS TANDEM?
THE BEST FREE LANGUAGE PROGRAM IN THE WORLD
The Tandem Conversation Program is a free cultural exchange for all program participants enrolled at Maximo Nivel. As an international Spanish learner, we team you up with a local English learner from our ESL program. Tandem is perfect for language students who want to meet new friends, develop their conversation skills, and increase their cultural understanding. This gives everyone at Maximo Nivel unequaled access to the most important resource for learning a language—native speakers! Conversations are open, informal, and natural, which takes the pressure off and allows you and your tandem partner to bond and help one another move forward in your language acquisition.
Your time commitment for the Tandem Conversation Program is completely flexible. You can meet with your tandem partner anytime—1 hour per week or 10 hours per week. You can also have multiple tandem partners to help you get even more practice with different accents and manners of speaking.
