GET PRACTICAL WORK EXPERIENCE ABROAD
Careers are more global in scope and content than ever before. You need to develop a whole new set of professional skills to ensure your success and to set yourself apart. Maximo Nivel partners with local companies and organizations including small businesses, schools, boutique hotels, tour companies, hospitals, clinics, and many more. We invest a great deal of time and money to build our employer and internship network, recruit interns, and manage logistics such as airport pick-up, accommodations, meals, embassy relations, and emergency plans. We also continually monitor in-field conditions to ensure the safety of your program.
The Maximo Nivel team is multi-lingual, educated, and very well-traveled. Our staff in each country is approximately 65% local people and 35% international people. This means, we easily manage the cultural and language barriers that often get in the way, and at the same time we’re familiar with both the local culture and your home country.

One of the unique things about doing your internship abroad with Maximo Nivel is that you are assigned a dedicated Internship Advisor. Your advisor meets with you for designated meetings and at other times whenever needed. Your advisor kicks things off with a get-to-know you meeting to help set you up for success and explain your program. You then meet with your advisor at least 2 more times including a mid-program meeting and again at the end of your internship to review your final project and to ensure all university requirements (if any) are met.

INTERNSHIP vs. VOLUNTEERING
At Maximo Nivel, internship placements are distinct and are organized separately from volunteer programs. Unlike many other study abroad organizations, your international internship is NOT interchangeable with a volunteer abroad program. Internships are designed to give you professional work experience, build your Spanish language proficiency, and expand your career network. On the other hand, volunteering abroad is about community service, and these projects are focused on helping in-need and under-funded programs and people. Both internships and volunteer programs are important, but each program focuses on different outcomes.
